Burger Time

This is another themed cupcake request I recently did. Little burgers!!! This was such a cute idea.

Paul Frank Cupcakes

Tomorrow is my daughter's 9th birthday. I asked her what she wanted... cake or cupcakes. She said "I want cupcakes, half vanilla and half chocolate like the beer cupcakes." It made me laugh at first but, I was also happy that she wanted something different than just a plain cupcake. She picked out the cupcake toppers and I did the rest. The end result, these beautiful cupcakes!

Black & Tan

About six months ago a friend recommended I try making a cupcake with half the cupcake a stout beer and the other a pale ale. I finally had a chance to test it out. Instead of using Guinness, I used Shiner Bock as the dark beer and Shiner Pale Ale for the pale ale and made a butter cream frosting to top it off. Big success!

Chocolate-Kahlua Mexican Wedding Cookies

So, tonight I wanted to make something with Kahlua.... I've already made White Russian Cupcakes and wanted something different. I found a recipe of mine for mexican wedding cookies (also known as italian wedding cookies) and tweaked it a little.

Peanut Butter Nutella Bliss!

I had a craving for something with peanut butter but, also wanting nutella. I couldn't decide what I wanted but, it had to be something sweet. After going through my recipes, I decided to combine the two (peanut butter and nutella) as a cookie. I think I could have added a bit more nutella but, over all they came out very good. The cookies didn't last but, only a day in the house!

Turtle Cupcakes

It's been a while since I've made Turtle Cupcakes.... there is a huge difference from my first batch I've ever made to the ones I've made today. This batch I made today came out great! I even tried a new frosting and different caramel! So far, I have had great reviews on them and hope it continues.

The Turtle Cookie

In my last post, I told you about my dulce de leche chocolate chip cookies. They came out pretty good. I think they needed a little boost... so, I added pecans to them. And load and behold I give you..... The Turtle Cookie!!!!! I have had quite a few complements on these and it makes me feel good that I think by far this is my best cookie I have done. Dulce de Leche Chocolate Chip Cookies

I have been wanting to make something using my dulce de leche I had in the cabinet. My first thought was to make brownies but, I really wasn't in the mood for brownies.... cookies maybe but not brownies. So, I decided to play around with my chocolate chip recipe and turn it up a notch. These cookies came out pretty good for my first time making them. I see these bad boys being ordered in the near future. :)

Banana Muffins Turned Up a Notch

Good evening all Little Shop of Treats viewers! Its been a few weeks since I've lasted posted. Well, I'm at it again! Last night I made some banana muffins for you chocoholics out there! Chocolate Banana Muffins!! I can't wait to make them again. My kids and husband gave them two thumbs up and I hope you do as well!

Double Chocolate Cherry Chip Cookies

Last night I was in the mood for baking cookies. Thinking to myself, should I bake peanut butter chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip cookies or cherry chip cookies? Well, I decided on DOUBLE CHOCOLATE CHERRY CHIP! They came out perfect, like eating a chocolate covered cherry.

Friday the 13th

Here's a special order I did just for today. Friday the 13th themed cupcakes! This is the first time being really creative with fondant and for it being my first time, I think it came out pretty good. My customers LOVED them which makes me so happy!! This is the second time I have used fondant with an order and I think the more practice I can get the better I will become.

Dulce de Leche Brownies

I've got a new favorite brownie.... Say good-bye to your old plain brownies an say hello to these, DULCE DE LECHE BROWNIES! I love to make these into bite size vs the traditional "cut into squares" since the taste is a little richer than that of the original brownie.

Oreo Cupcakes

Well, here they are! Homemade Oreo Cupcakes! They taste just like an Oreo Cookie but, in a cake form. :)

The Big Lebowski

When you hear "White Russians" you automatically think of The Big Lebowski, right? Well, my husband and I enjoy having a white russian from time to time. One day while relaxing at home and having our white russians, I thought about what a cupcake would taste like if I make it like a white russian. This is the out come of what I wanted to make. This came pretty close to what a white russian tastes like. I am so pleased with it!

And yes, the Vodka and Kahlua were also used in this recipe!

Red Velvet Specialty

In February, I had an order for 2 dozen red velvet cupcakes and 1 cake. The cake was a 2 layer cake with the top layer in the shape of a "B" and the bottom layer in a rectangle shape. This was my first cake order. I was a little scared because I prefer cupcakes but, the cake came out pretty awesome. My customer was very happy!!

Oatmeal Cookies

I made some homemade oatmeal cookies. This batch is raisin-free only because my daughter doesn't care for raisins. I can't wait to make the next batch!

Pretzel Time

This was my first attempt making homemade pretzels. They came out pretty tasty. I think I may be making more in the near future.

Strawberries n Cream

I recently had a request for a dozen strawberry cupcakes. I ended up making homemade strawberry cupcakes filled with strawberry filling in the middle and topped with cream cheese frosting and a freshly sliced strawberry. My customer loved them!!

Dulce de Leche Brownies

After making these Dulce de Leche Brownies, I don't think I could eat a plain brownie again. These brownies came out so moist and gooey.... makes me want to make another batch right now. These brownies went pretty fast in my house!

Happy Birthday to My Love!

Earlier this month was my husband's birthday. I made him a chocolate cake with buttercream frosting topped with chocolate dipped strawberries. Practice makes perfect!!!

Chocolate Mint and Churro Cupcakes

In December, I had customers order some Chocolate Mint Cupcakes and Churro Cupcakes. I'm getting better making everything homemade (no boxed cake mixes). These two types were very popular and the customers enjoyed them!

The Chocolate Mint cupcake is a chocolate cupcake with a hint of mint topped with buttercream frosting.
The Churro Cupcake is a dulce de leche and cinnamon cupcake topped with a cinnamon cream cheese frosting and a star shaped churro on top.

Birthday Cupcake Order - Fish Theme

A friend of ours contacted me, asking if I could make 2 dozen "fish themed" cupcakes for her son's 3rd birthday. I was thrilled at the fact that this was my first themed order! The cupcakes came out so cute!

Beer + Cupcake = Yum!

A group of friends, my husband and I went to the Saint Arnold's Brewery a month ago. I wanted to make a cupcake that included a beer in the ingredients. I came across a beer that this brewery makes which is called Santos. So, I made a chocolate stout cupcake with cream cheese frosting! They were a hit!!!

Getting Back on Track

Hey folks! Sorry I haven't been blogging in a few weeks. I've got so much to update you on!!! I will be posting more in the next few days... PROMISE!! Happy New Year and I hope you all have had a wonderful holiday. Here are a few hints of what I've got in store for you, so keep checking back!

I've been in the kitchen the past few weeks making mini pies, homemade brownies, Churro Cupcakes, Chocolate Mint Cupcakes and tonight... Oatmeal Cookies!
